Meiriely Amaral is currently serving as a CORI & Re-entry Project Legal Intern at Greater Boston Legal Services since May 2023. Previous experience includes roles as a Lab Assistant at NuLawLab (January 2023 - May 2023), Legal Intern at Justice Catalyst Law (September 2022 - December 2022), and Law Clerk at ADKINS, KELSTON & ZAVEZ, P.C. (January 2022 - August 2022). Prior positions also encompass work as a Paralegal at Altshuler Berzon (June 2019 - June 2021) and various internships including a Research Intern at the Rohatyn Center for Global Affairs and a Domestic Violence Intern at Tapestri, Inc. Meiriely holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from Northeastern University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Gender, Sexuality, And Feminist Studies and Political Science from Middlebury College. A study abroad experience in Human Rights at Universidad Alberto Hurtado further complements the educational background.

Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS) plays an indispensable role in the lives of poor people in the Boston area by providing free, high-quality civil (noncriminal) legal assistance to low-income individuals and families. GBLS helps its clients navigate the complex maze of laws and regulations, enabling them to obtain the basic necessities of life. GBLS annually provides assistance to over 10,000 people who live at or below 125% of the federal poverty standard ($30,750 for a family of 4).
