Alissa Koenig (She/Her)

Alissa Koenig has a diverse work experience in the health and wellness industry. Alissa is currently working as the Membership and Wellness Director and as a Certified Personal Trainer/Group Fitness Instructor at the Greater Joliet Area YMCA. Prior to that, they held positions at the same YMCA as the Health and Wellness Director, Youth, Family and Wellness Director, and Health and Wellness Coordinator. Alissa also worked as a Certified Personal Trainer/Group Exercise Instructor at the Village of Romeoville and as an Aquatics Coordinator at the Joliet Park District. Additionally, they have experience as a Special Events Coordinator at the Senior Services Center of Will County and as a Certified Personal Trainer at the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago. Their earliest work experience was as a Fitness Specialist/Aquatic Coordinator at Aurora Health Care. Throughout their career, Alissa has gained expertise in various areas including membership and wellness management, personal training, group fitness instruction, youth athletic program development, fundraising event coordination, and fitness program design.

Alissa Koenig attended Beloit Memorial High School from 1996 to 2000. After completing their high school education, they enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2000 and graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Promotion and Wellness.
