Bob Ingala has been a director at the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center since 2001. Prior to that, they were the CEO of Hale Hospital from 1992-2001. Bob has also been self-employed.
Bob has provided overall leadership and strategic planning for both the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center and Hale Hospital. Bob played a major role in collaboration with state political leadership which resulted in special legislation generating significant additional revenue for Hale Hospital. Bob also successfully led the passage of city and state legislation enhancing hospital governance structure.
At Hale Hospital, Bob recruited and negotiated a contract with a new Radiology group which expanded services and improved quality. Bob also played a key role in developing the business strategy which added numerous core services such as wound care. In addition, they worked with a Congressional office to establish the first VA primary care clinic located within a hospital setting. This increased market penetration for services in MA and NH and generated additional patient revenue.
Under Bob’s leadership, communication with the Board, Medical Staff, employees and news media improved significantly. Bob instituted several on-going briefings and presentations to community groups. In addition, they spearheaded the information technology conversion to new clinical and financial applications.
Bob played a leadership role in the negotiation of a business venture with a major Boston teaching hospital which maintained and enhanced women’s health care locally. Bob also resolved extensive service issues in Emergency Department which improved patient satisfaction.
Bob Ingala's educational career includes a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance from Suffolk University, as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Suffolk University.
