Brian Surratt has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. In their current role as President and CEO at Greater Seattle Partners since February 2022, they lead and oversees the organization's operations. Prior to this, they served as the Executive Director - Puget Sound at Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) from June 2021 to February 2022.
Before joining LISC, Surratt worked at Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc., where they held various positions. From March to June 2021, they were the Vice President of Real Estate Development and Community Relations. Prior to that, they served as the Assistant Vice President from March 2019 to March 2021 and as the Executive Director from December 2017 to March 2019.
Surratt also has a significant background in government and public affairs. Brian worked at the City of Seattle for many years, starting as the Deputy Director, Business Development Director, and Industry Sectors Manager from January 2005 to December 2013. Brian later became the Director of Economic Development from June 2015 to December 2017, where they led major strategic initiatives focused on Seattle's economic growth and sustainability. Furthermore, they held the position of Senior Policy Advisor in the Office of Policy and Innovation from January 2014 to June 2015.
Prior to their work at the City of Seattle, Surratt gained experience in the sports industry as the Public Affairs Manager for the Seattle Seahawks from June 2003 to June 2005. Brian also held the Vice President - Partnerships role at Grouptrail from January 2002 to June 2005. Additionally, they worked as a Program Associate at The South Downtown Foundation from April 2000 to June 2003.
Surratt started their career in politics, serving as a Legislative Assistant to State Representative Jim McIntire in the Washington State Legislature from December 1998 to April 2000. Brian also worked as a Field Director for Pro-Choice Washington Coalition, No on I-694 from August to November 1998.

Brian Surratt completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Philosophy from The University of Tulsa from 1994 to 1998. Brian then pursued further education at the University of Washington, where they obtained a Master's degree in Public Policy and Administration from 2002 to 2004.
