George Beattie

George Beattie currently serves as Programme Coordinator for the Lower North Island Integrated Mobility Programme at Greater Wellington Regional Council, focusing on enhancing rail infrastructure and services. Previously, at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, George contributed to the Future Pathways Team, working on a major initiative aimed at reforming New Zealand's research and innovation systems. George also managed environmental projects as the owner of Green George, coordinating initiatives like Forever Forests for carbon neutrality, and served as Programmes Coordinator at Sustainable Coastlines, planning restoration projects across New Zealand. George holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Lincoln University and has completed additional studies in landscape architecture and avalanche risk management.
