Karen Jenkinson

Karen Jenkinson has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Karen currently works as the Principal Account Manager for Bus & Total Mobility at the Greater Wellington Regional Council. Prior to this, they held positions such as Senior Marketing & Communications Advisor and Key Account Manager at the same council. Before joining the council, Karen worked as the Interim Chief Executive Officer for the National Council of Women of New Zealand (NCWNZ).

Karen has also worked as a Project Manager for the Public Fundraising Regulatory Association Australia, overseeing a multi-country feasibility project for a fundraiser database. At the Fundraising Institute of New Zealand (FINZ), Karen served as the Chief Executive during a transitional period and successfully managed member communications, event management, and sponsorship acquisition.

Karen has held leadership roles throughout their career, including Chief Executive of the Public Fundraising Regulatory Association, where they provided sector leadership and managed important relationships. Karen also worked as a sole contractor for Writing Inc, offering marketing and web writing support to small businesses.

Earlier in their career, Karen worked as the Manager of Marketing & Communications for the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand and as a Consultant at Blue Crow Consulting. In the United Kingdom, they served as the Head of Customer Focus at Portsmouth City Council, where they led an organization of over 10,000 staff to improve customer service and manage revenue. Finally, Karen held the role of Marketing & Communications Manager at Te Kura The Correspondence School.

Karen Jenkinson attended Bournemouth University where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Public Relations. Prior to that, they studied at Guilsborough County School, but no specific degree or field of study was mentioned.
