Rhys Evans

Rhys Evans is an experienced operational technology specialist currently employed at Greater Wellington Regional Council since February 2023, following a tenure as a Senior Environmental Monitoring Officer from July 2019 to June 2022, where responsibilities included modernizing the air monitoring network and ensuring high-quality environmental data delivery. Prior to this, Rhys worked at Ecotech Pty Ltd from February 2012 to April 2019, serving as a Senior Technical Specialist for international operations and as Technical Support Services Manager, enhancing customer support and training programs. Earlier positions included National Technical Manager at American Ecotech from January 2006 to January 2012, where Rhys established the Ecotech brand in North America and developed key regulatory relationships, as well as serving as a Field Service Engineer at Ecotech Pty Ltd from 2002 to 2005, focusing on monitoring systems in the mining sector. Rhys holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemistry and Mathematics from Queensland University of Technology, obtained between 1994 and 1998.
