Leah Mowery has a diverse work experience in sustainability and environmental advocacy. Leah currently serves as a Sustainability Program Manager at Green Business Bureau, starting in 2022. Prior to this role, Leah worked as an Outreach & Communications Associate at Renewable Energy Wildlife Institute from 2021 to 2022. Leah also had a previous stint at Green Business Bureau as a Sustainability Analyst, where they played a key role in developing and refining sustainability business practices, leading the member success team, and specializing in UN Sustainable Development Goal content. Leah's journey in environmental advocacy began as a Peace Corps Nepal Food Security Volunteer in 2019, where they learned and applied food security principles and techniques while integrating with the local community. Prior to this, Leah gained hands-on experience in organic farming as an Apprentice at Cornercopia Student Organic Farm in 2018, where they managed planting, cultivation, pest control, and marketing activities. Leah also served as a Peace Corps Campus Ambassador from 2017 to 2018. Overall, Leah Mowery has developed a strong background in sustainability, advocacy, and project coordination through their diverse work experiences.

Leah Mowery has a strong educational background in the field of sustainability and conservation. Leah obtained their Master of Arts degree in Global Sustainability from the University of South Florida in 2020. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Conservation Biology from the University of Minnesota, where they studied from 2015 to 2018.

Apart from their formal education, Leah has also pursued additional certifications to enhance their knowledge and skills. In 2022, they obtained a certification in "Driving Business Toward the Sustainable Development Goals" from Erasmus University Rotterdam. In 2021, they acquired the "LEED Green Associate" certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. In 2020, they earned a "Climate and Food Justice Certificate" from The CLEO Institute and a "Certificate in Fund Development Fundamentals" from the Nonprofit Leadership Center. Leah also holds the "Certified Interpretive Guide (CIG)" certification from the National Association for Interpretation, which they obtained in 2017.
