Kristen Hartel

Kristen Hartel is a seasoned sustainability professional with extensive experience in green building and energy efficiency. Currently serving as a Senior LEED Certification Reviewer at Green Business Certification Inc. since September 2021, Kristen has previously held roles such as Green Building Specialist at the U.S. Green Building Council and Project Manager at Active Energies, Inc. Kristen's expertise includes guiding stakeholders through LEED for Homes certification, conducting energy performance testing, and developing solar proposals. Additionally, Kristen has contributed to sustainability initiatives as Program Coordinator for the City of Boulder, co-founded Beyond Organic Farm, and participated in various community engagement efforts. Kristen holds a Master's degree in Sustainability from Harvard University, along with several graduate certificates in related fields and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado Boulder.
