Stuart Clenaghan

Stuart Clenaghan is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in sustainable development and environmental investment. As Co-Founder of Green Gold Forestry Peru since June 2008, Stuart has focused on sustainable management of the Amazon rainforest. As the owner of Eco System Services Limited since November 2007, Stuart develops business models for large-scale sustainable land-use projects in emerging economies. Additionally, Stuart serves as a Member of the Board of Trustees for Botanic Gardens Conservation International and as a Senior Fellow at the Climate Bonds Initiative. Past roles include Senior Adviser at The Nature Conservancy and positions in capital markets at UBS Investment Bank and Lehman Brothers. Stuart holds an MA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge and an MSc in Industrial Sociology and Economics from Imperial College London.

Green Gold Forestry Peru

At GGF, we are dedicated to the conservation and sustainable use of the resources of the Peruvian Amazon rainforest and support the development of local populations in the areas of direct influence. Our work seeks the integral use of the forest, its protection and the use, conservation, recovery and restoration of its ecological functions. These activities involve active planning and engagement with indigenous communities to develop sustainable economic opportunities and resilience to climate change. Our overall mission is broken down into four axes: conservation of ecosystem services, sustainable use of natural resources, community development and inclusion, and research, development and innovation. 💼Conservation Project with USAID: With USAID support and funding, we are implementing the project: "Sustainable Management of Forest Concessions" in the Amazon Rainforest of Peru.
