John Paul Smith has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. John Paul currently holds the position of Vice President, Commercial at Green Impact Partners since November 2022. Previously, they served as the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at the same company from January 2021 to November 2022.
Before joining Green Impact Partners, John Paul worked at Wolverine Energy and Infrastructure Inc. as the General Counsel, Director of Capital Allocation, and Corporate Secretary since May 2019.
Prior to that, they gained legal experience at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, where they started as a Summer Legal Student in June 2014 and became an Associate from July 2015 to May 2019.
During their law studies, they also worked as a Summer Legal Student at Trilogy Energy Corp. in both 2012 and 2013.
John Paul's early career started at Goldmark Homes Ltd. as the Vice President from January 2009 to May 2012.
John Paul Smith completed their Bachelor's Degree in Political Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2004 to 2007. John Paul then pursued further studies at the University of Calgary, where they obtained another Bachelor's Degree in Law and Society from 2008 to 2009. Smith's educational journey continued at the University of Calgary, where they earned a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in Law from 2012 to 2014.
