Mariana Del Valle Prieto Cervantes has a diverse background in environmental advocacy and community education, currently serving as Chief of Staff at GreenLatinos since July 2020, where responsibilities have included directing strategic initiatives and advocating for water equity. Prior experience at Monterey Bay Aquarium from June 2013 to January 2021 involved creating and delivering bilingual educational programs and managing contractor efforts for public engagement. Additionally, Mariana's role as a Bilingual Community Educator at Our Children's Earth Foundation included coordinating outreach on environmental health issues, particularly regarding mercury in fish, and working with diverse communities. Mariana holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies with a focus on Sustainable Communities from California State University, Monterey Bay, and an Associate's degree in Social Sciences from Monterey Peninsula College.

GreenLatinos is a national non-profit organization that convenes a broad coalition of Latino leaders committed to addressing national, regional and local environmental, natural resources and conservation issues that significantly affect the health and welfare of the Latino community in the United States. GreenLatinos provides an inclusive table at which its members establish collaborative partnerships and networks to improve the environment; protect and promote conservation of land and other natural resources; amplify the voices of minority, low-income and tribal communities; and train, mentor, and promote the current and future generations of Latino environmental leaders for the benefit of the Latino community and beyond. GreenLatinos develops and advocates for policies and programs to advance this mission.
