An enthusiast with a commitment to social justice, Renee Berlon is a graduate of the University of Dayton with a B.A. in International Studies and Human Rights. She is an experienced nonprofit professional having worked for local, state-wide, and international nonprofit advocacy groups. Before joining GreenLight Fund in 2022, Renee oversaw fundraising events and community partnerships at St. Vincent de Paul – Cincinnati (SVDP). Prior to SVDP, she served as the Development Director for UpSpring, an organization that empowers children who are experiencing homelessness in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Northern Kentucky. In addition, Renee’s professional career has included fundraising work for Cooperative for Education, community organizing with Ohioans to Stop Executions, leading delegations for CRISPAZ (Christians for Peace in El Salvador), and advocating for tenants and homeowners at the United Community Housing Coalition in Detroit, Michigan.
Renee values engaging in her community through volunteerism, which includes coaching fastpitch softball through the Cincinnati Reds Youth Academy, volunteering at Findlay Market, and serving on the fundraising committee for her neighborhood community development association. She was named a “Next 9” Community Leader by WCPO and is a member of C-Change Class 17 through the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber.
