Frank Wefering is the Director of Sustainability at Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI), a New York-based engineering firm with 1,500 employees. Frank has been with GPI for 5 years and 6 months, and in that time has helped the company become more sustainable by identifying and implementing innovative solutions in the areas of infrastructure, energy-efficient building systems, smart cities, healthy and livable communities, sustainable transportation and road safety, climate change adaptation and resilience, as well as water management.

Prior to joining GPI, Frank was the Founder & CEO of Changing Track - Research & Consulting, LLC, where they advised cities worldwide on implementing innovative and effective solutions in the areas of urban mobility planning, accessibility, transportation, health, and urban resilience. Frank has also worked as a Consultant/International Expert for Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, a Senior Consultant for the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, and as a Consultant and Advisor for Consultancy. Frank began their career as a Senior Consultant for Rupprecht Consult, where they worked for 14 years and 5 months before moving on to their current role at GPI.

Frank Wefering has a Master of Economics from North Carolina State University and a Dipl.-Volkswirt from Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster. Frank is also an Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure.
