Senior Vice President, Corporate Development & Governance at GreenShield

Andrew MacDonald, MBA, has extensive experience in corporate development, governance, risk management, compliance, and legal roles. Andrew currently holds the position of Senior Vice President of Corporate Development & Governance at GreenShield, a position they have held since July 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President of Corporate Development & Governance at GreenShield from January 2021 to July 2022.

Earlier in their career, Andrew held various positions at Transamerica Life Canada, including Assistant Vice President of Risk Management from October 2011 to November 2013. Andrew also served as the Senior Manager of Regulatory Compliance, Senior Product Manager of Investment Product Development, Segregated Fund Consultant, and Dealer Liaison during their tenure at Transamerica Life Canada, which lasted from 1998 to 2013.

Additionally, Andrew briefly worked at AEGON Fund Management Inc. as the Chief Compliance Officer from February 2011 to October 2011.

Andrew MacDonald holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Strategic Management from the Schulich School of Business at York University. Andrew also has a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Economics & Finance from the University of Toronto. Additionally, they completed the Leading Change Executive Program at the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management and obtained certifications in the Canadian Securities Course and the Conduct and Practices Handbook Course from the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI). Andrew also completed the Officers, Partners and Directors Course and the Canadian Investment Funds Course from The Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC). Andrew has also completed courses in Effective Project Management and Strategies for a Web Presence from the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies.
