Ken retired as National President of the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) union and General Vice President of Canadian Labour Congress and Member of Canadian Automotive Partnership Council in 2013. Throughout his tenure, he was responsible for negotiating and bargaining multiple collective agreements with major employees in Canada and led the successful merger of the Canadian Auto Workers Union and the Canadian Energy & Paper Union into the formation of Unifor. Ken is very active in his community, supporting organizations including: United Way, Easter Seals, University of Windsor, Canadian Mental Health and many other not-for-profit groups. In 2013, he received an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Law from the University of Windsor.
