Stephen Rogan started their work experience in 2000 as an IT lecturer at SRC. Stephen also held the position of Deputy Head of School of Creative Design & Computing at Southern Regional College, starting in 2000. From March 2012 to September 2014, they acted as the Head of School for Engineering at Southern Regional College.

Stephen Rogan completed their education in the following chronological order:

From 1995 to 2000, they attended Queen's University Belfast, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in ICT.

Stephen then pursued further studies at Ulster University from 2003 to 2006, earning a Master of Science in Life Long Learning. Stephen'sfield of study focused on the impact of online learning in higher education.

Later, from 2014 to 2017, Stephen Rogan returned to Ulster University to complete a Postgraduate Certificate at Level 7 in Digital Learning.

In addition to their formal education, Stephen Rogan obtained two certifications. In April 2021, they completed the CMI Level 7 Senior Leadership Programme offered by In Professional Development (INPD). Similarly, in June 2021, they obtained the ALT Member Badge 2021 from the Association for Learning Technology.
