Ruben Gotlieb is a partner with Greenspoon Marder’s International Wealth and Asset Planning and Wills, Trusts & Estates practice groups. With over 30 years of experience, he concentrates his practice on international estate planning, international estate tax law, domestic estate planning, estate administration, and pre-immigration tax planning. Mr. Gotlieb also regularly advises clients on cross-border matters, including the new GILTI and FDII provisions of the 2017 Tax Act.
Prior to joining Greenspoon Marder, Mr. Gotlieb has extensive experience working in both corporate law firms as well as in-house counsel for international financial institutions. He served as a partner at leading business law firms in Florida and Washington, D.C., counseling clients on international estate tax and estate planning matters. Mr. Gotlieb also served as a former associate general counsel for the Department of Justice, Immigration and Naturalization Service.
For several years, Mr. Gotlieb has taken an active role in shaping the legal community in South Florida. He is a sought-after resource and a frequent lecturer for his knowledge on international and domestic estate tax and estate planning. Mr. Gotlieb has given several lectures in both English and Spanish, including at the University of Miami School of Law in the LLM Tax Program, where he is an adjunct professor. Additionally, as a recognized leader, he has been included in the Global Who’s Who and the Latino American Who’s Who.
