Araceli Farias is the current Director of Multilingual Learners & Dual Language Immersion Instruction at Gresham-Barlow School District 10J. Araceli has been with GBSD since 2009, starting as an ELD Teacher. In March 2021, Araceli was promoted to Teacher on Special Assignment and then in June 2021, Araceli was promoted to their current position. Araceli is committed to helping our culturally, and linguistically diverse families navigate our educational system while supporting classroom teachers and administrators connect with our community. Araceli is also a member of the Latino/a/x & Indigenous Student Success Advisory Committee, the Oregon Association of Latino Administrators and the Oregon Association of Bilingual Educators.

After completing their undergraduate degree at The University of Texas at El Paso, Araceli Farias pursued a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Concordia University-Portland. Araceli then went on to earn their Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Leadership from Lewis & Clark College.

Araceli Farias reports to James Hiu, Superintendent. They work with Tim Collins - Director of Research, Assessment, & Evaluation, James Charles - Program Director of High Schools & Post Secondary, Charter Schools, and Susan Dalen - Program Director, Structured Skills Center & Early Childhood Program. and Julie Rowell - Secondary Multilingual Learners Coordinator reports to Araceli Farias.
