Dr. Edd James is an Associate Professor in Cancer Immunology at the University of Southampton Cancer Research Centre. Dr. James leads a group that focuses on understanding the mechanisms behind the immunodominance of antigens in tumours and investigates the role antigen processing and presentation play in generating immune responses. He has made seminal contributions to the understanding of the way in which members of the antigen presentation pathway modulate antigen processing in cancer and autoimmune disease.
Dr. James sits on the Editorial board of Journal of vaccines and immunology and on the Editorial advisory board of Immunology news. Dr. James graduated in Microbiology from the University of Bristol in 1997 and completed his PhD at Imperial college London in 2001. He was awarded a Wellcome Trust International Travelling Fellowship and held post-doctoral positions at the University of California at Berkeley and University of Southampton.
