Alex MacUr

Alex Macur has a diverse range of work experience in the field of information technology. alex has held various roles, including Adjunct Professor at Mount Saint Mary's College (starting in 2023), IT Director at Greystone Programs Inc (starting in 2017), and Adjunct Professor at Marist College (starting in 2015). Prior to their teaching positions, they worked at Syncora Guarantee as VP of IT Operations (from July 2000 to March 2012) where they successfully managed various projects and vendor contracts. alex also worked as a Senior Network Engineer at Burn-One.com for a brief period in 2000, and as a Network Administrator/Team Lead at Keane, Incorporated from April 1998 to March 2000. Before entering the IT field, they served as the Director of a private school called Millbrook School, where they introduced an innovative "Learning with Laptops" program in partnership with Toshiba.

Alex Macur received a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Marist College from 2002 to 2004. Prior to that, they earned a BS in Computer Science from St. John's University from 1986 to 1990. In 1985 and 1986, Alex attended Marietta College, but their degree and field of study during that time are unknown.

Greystone Programs provides exceptional services and life-enriching opportunities for children, adults, and families living with Autism and other developmental disabilities. As a recognized human services provider, we offer certified residential programs and community-based / non-residential programs that include habilitation services in a five-county region of the Hudson Valley, New York. Greystone prides itself on nurturing relationships that go beyond the commonplace. We work side-by-side with program participants-as-colleagues in celebration of the wonderful diversity of the human spirit. Through New York State OPWDD certified residential programs Greystone operates 14 group homes in three counties: Dutchess, Orange, and Ulster. We are dedicated to an “aging-in-place” approach for all who reside at Greystone. Our community based services encompass a variety of habilitation programs. We offer Community Habilitation, and Day Habilitation; as well as In-Home Behavior Therapy; Children’s Waiver Services and Family Education and Training. Additionally, we host social skills development groups, recreation programs, weekend respite, and after school and school break programs.
