Ben Farmer is a Senior Data Scientist at Gridcog, having joined their data science team in early 2025. Previously, from 2020 to 2023, Ben served as a Senior Scientific Software Engineer/Data Scientist at the Bureau of Meteorology, contributing to the eReefs project focused on coastal runoff monitoring. Ben's earlier roles include a Senior Research Scientist/Scientific Software Engineer at Acacia Systems and a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellow at Imperial College London, where they conducted independent research in astrophysics. Ben earned both a Ph.D. and a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from Monash University, completing their doctoral studies in 2014.
