Tony Song has a diverse range of work experience. Tony began their career as an electrical engineer at Burns & McDonnell in 2009 before moving on to Energy Business Consulting | Sargent & Lundy in 2012 as a Management Consultant II/Senior Electrical Engineer. In 2017, they joined E.ON as a Senior Project Engineer, specializing in solar and energy storage. Tony also worked as a Private Equity Associate Intern at K Squared Fund in 2017. From 2018 to 2020, Tony worked at IHI Corporation in product management and system engineering roles related to energy storage. Tony then joined Invenergy LLC as a Director of Distributed Energy and later IHI Corporation again as a Director of System Engineering for Energy Storage. Most recently, in 2020, Tony was employed at Goldman Sachs as a Vice President until 2023. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Engineering and Technical Services at GridStor.
Tony Song has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, obtained in 2018. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science (M.S.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Michigan. Tony also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Additionally, Tony has obtained certifications including "LEEP AP (legacy)" from the U.S. Green Building Council and "Professional Engineer" from the State of Illinois - Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
