Previously, Zao held the position of Mine Superintendent at Metals Acquisition Corp, where oversight was provided for operations at CSA Mine, one of Australia's highest-grade copper mines. Zao's career also includes significant roles at MMG Limited, Barminco, Victory Minerals, Perilya, OceanaGold Corporation, and Glencore, focusing on mining operations, project management, and technical services across various high-profile mines. Zao's educational background encompasses a Master’s degree in Mining Engineering from UNSW, alongside Master's degrees in Commerce and Professional Accounting from Deakin University, and a Bachelor of Science in Geophysics from China University of Geosciences.
