Portia Zilwa

Portia Zilwa has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Starting in 2007, they worked at First National Bank GH as a Back Office Assistant, then transitioned to a Customer Service Consultant role and later became a Course Coordinator.

In 2014, Portia joined Anglo American South Africa as a Small Business Hub Manager, where they were responsible for managing a small business hub.

Portia then moved to Masisizane Fund in 2017, where they held multiple positions including SME Development Manager, Executive Head of Investments, Acting Chief Executive Officer, and ultimately Executive Head of Business Development.

In 2022, Portia joined Grindrod Bank as the Head of SME Banking.

Throughout their career, Portia has gained extensive experience in various areas such as business development, investments, and SME banking.

Portia Zilwa began their education in 2002, where they obtained a Certificate in Business Studies from the University of the Western Cape. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Management, completing it in 2008 from the same university. In 2013, Portia enrolled at the University of South Africa (UNISA) and earned an Honours Degree in Economics, which they completed in 2015. Most recently, from 2017 to 2020, they attended the Graduate School of Business - University of Cape Town, where they obtained an Mcom Development Finance degree, specializing in Development Finance.
