James Clarendon

James Clarendon is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in software development and management. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at Griptape since December 2023, James previously held significant roles at Amazon, including Senior Software Development Manager for AWS Sumerian and Software Development Manager for Alexa. James transitioned to management at Amazon in 2016, establishing a new team within the Alexa organization. Earlier career experiences include positions at Rosetta Stone, 2K Games Marin, DORC, Inc. as President, and various roles at several game development studios. James holds a B.A. in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin, completed in 2000.
