Bill Cook

Bill Cook is an experienced executive with a career spanning several decades in technology and sales leadership. Currently serving as an Executive Advisor at Groq since March 2025, Bill has previously held notable positions such as Executive Advisor and Board of Director member at Yugabyte from May 2020 to August 2025, and Chief Executive Officer at the same company. Bill led Pivotal Software, Inc. as President from April 2013 to March 2020, and served as a Consultant to VMware during that time. Additional leadership roles include President of Greenplum at EMC, CEO of Greenplum, and Senior Vice President of Sales and Services at Penguin Computing. Bill’s extensive career at Sun Microsystems included multiple senior sales leadership positions. Bill graduated from Michigan State University between 1976 and 1980.
