Vignesh Shankar

Vignesh Shankar is an accomplished Machine Learning Engineer with extensive experience in developing innovative solutions across various domains, including defense and agriculture. Currently employed at Ground Truth Agriculture Inc since March 2023, Vignesh previously held positions at Xtract AI as a Machine Learning Engineer I, where significant contributions included the development of an instance segmentation model for forest fire detection. Prior experience encompasses a role as a Machine Learning Researcher at Data Science Laboratory, focusing on deep learning techniques to enhance diagnostic accuracy, and a Teaching Assistant position at the University of Regina. Vignesh has also completed internships and co-op positions at Mitacs, Nokia, and Hitachi Consulting, gaining a solid foundation in software development and database management. Vignesh Shankar holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Regina and dual degrees in Computer Applications from Vellore Institute of Technology.
