GROUNDED Australia
GROUNDED is a hybrid event for farmers, really; a cross between a conference, a field day and a food festival. Inspired by Groundswell in the UK, and run with their blessing, GROUNDED is trying to reimagine farmer learning by running multiple talks and demonstrations on farm, for farmers, organised by farmers. The inaugural event is going to be held at our 70-acre mixed farm near Cygnet, south of Hobart, Tasmania, in early December, to coincide with World Soil Day. (If you don’t know the date, there’s no judgement here – but it is the 5th of December.) The event will pave the way for bigger GROUNDED events, including on mainland Australia, run by the same team.
