Dr Nicholas Thompson

Dr. Nicholas Thompson is a seasoned geoscientist and applied scientist with extensive experience in petroleum geology, geoscience data analysis, and artificial intelligence applications. Currently serving as a Senior Applied Scientist at G42 and Inception since July 2025, Dr. Thompson previously held roles at Halliburton, CGG, GNS Science, and Statoil, contributing to significant advancements in data automation, prospect analysis, and geological modeling. With a robust academic background including a PhD in Geology from the University of Canterbury, Dr. Thompson is also pursuing an MSc in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Bath, further enhancing expertise in the integration of generative AI technologies within the geoscience domain.
