David Larkman

Lead Engineer - Powertrain Design at Group Lotus

David Larkman has over 20 years of experience in various engineering roles. David started their career as a Production Engineer at Hamlin Electronics (Europe) from 1994 to 1997. David then worked as a Technical Design Engineer at UWG, specializing in the design and analysis of structural components and tools for the off-shore petrochemicals industry from 1997 to 1998. After that, they joined UCP as a Product Designer, where they were responsible for designing injection moulded plastic closures and managing CAD software and hardware installations.

David's most recent and significant work experience was at Group Lotus plc, where they held multiple roles. David started as a Senior Design Engineer - Powertrain in 2000 and worked on various projects related to powertrain components and systems for Lotus Cars and third-party clients. Some notable projects include the design of prototype and production supercharger installations, conversion of production ICE vehicles to electric power, and the design and packaging of components for hybrid vehicles. In 2013, David was promoted to Lead Engineer - Powertrain Design, where they became the lead designer for powertrain components and systems for Lotus Cars. David worked on several non-confidential projects, such as the Lotus Elise Sport 250, Lotus Exige S Automatic, Lotus Evora 400, and Lotus Emira.
