Matt Smolka

Matt Smolka is an experienced engineering professional specializing in advanced simulation, crash, and safety engineering. Currently serving as Principal Engineer for Advanced Simulation at Group Lotus since April 2018, Matt has also held positions as Lead Engineer for Crash & Safety and CAE Engineer within the same company. Prior experience includes a role as CAE Engineer at TECOSIM Group focusing on JNCAP and safety analysis, as well as development work on CFRP bumpers at Penso. Previous experience also includes a position as CAE Graduate Engineer at Tata Technologies, where work encompassed various crash testing standards and structural optimization. Matt holds dual Master of Science degrees in Advanced Lightweight Structures and Impact from Cranfield University and in Mechanical Engineering from The Silesian University of Technology, along with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution.
