Ryan Rastedt has a diverse work experience. Ryan started as an Electrical Engineering Intern at Orbital Technologies Corporation in 2005, where they supported the design of advanced projects for the international space station. Ryan then worked as a Software Engineer at Lockheed Martin from 2006 to 2011, utilizing agile software development to develop and maintain operations grade software. At Nico Trading, Ryan worked as a Software Engineer from 2011 to 2012, focusing on designing and developing desktop applications and analytic services for a proprietary option trading platform. Ryan then joined Group One Trading, LP in 2012, where they held various roles including Senior Applications Developer, Director of Software Development, and currently serves as the Managing Director of Software Development. In their role at Group One Trading, Ryan created a consolidated order management system, designed a signal-driven automated trading engine, and developed a WPF-based application framework and control library. Ryan also co-founded and served as the President of Roken Design since 1999.

Ryan Rastedt completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison between 2002 and 2006. In 2008, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science at The George Washington University, which they completed in 2009.

In 2017, Ryan enrolled at the Quantic School of Business and Technology to obtain a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.), which they completed the same year.

Ryan also holds several additional certifications. In 2018, they obtained the Series 57 certification from FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority). In 2014, they received the "HarvardX: Science & Cooking, From Haute Cuisine to Soft Matter Science" certificate from edX. In 2013, Ryan obtained multiple certifications from Microsoft, including MCPD: Windows Developer 4, MCTS: .NET Framework 4, Data Access, MCTS: .NET Framework 4, Service Communication Applications, and MCTS: .NET Framework 4, Windows Applications. In 2010, they earned the MCPD: Windows Developer 3.5 certification, and in 2009, they obtained the MCTS: .NET Framework 3.5, Windows Forms Applications certification.
