Martin Deschênes

Vice-Chairman at Deschenes Group

Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Groupe Deschênes Inc. Martin joined the family business in June 1981 and held various positions before assuming the direction of the subsidiaries of Plomberium in Montreal and then of Desco in Toronto during three years. Back in Montreal, he obtained his MBA from HEC Montreal in 1998. It was at the very end of 2000 that Jacques Deschênes passed the torch to his eldest son Martin, when he was appointed president of Groupe Deschênes Inc. . until the beginning of 2017. Since 2005, Martin has been honorary president for the benefit evening of the Montreal Association for the Intellectual Disability (AMDI) and has participated, for several years, as a member of the jury in the competition "Les Emerging medalists ”and at the“ Arista ”provincial competition. In the past, he acted as president for the board of directors of the Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating as well as for the Young President's Organization (YPO), chapter of Quebec. He is also a member of the Quebec Institute for Business Families (IQFA), the World President's Organization (WPO), the HEC network and the Cercle des Présidents du Québec. He also sits on a board of directors and an advisory committee for Canadian companies.
