Joanie Anderson has a diverse work experience in various roles within the health and wellness industry. Joanie started their career as the Health and Fitness Director at Rose E. Schneider Family YMCA in 2006, followed by a role as the Director of Wellness at the Wilfred R. Cameron Wellness Center in 2007. Joanie then worked as a Project Manager and Entrepreneur at Talk'n Tables from 2008 to 2010. In 2010, Joanie became the Master Trainer at Slippery Rock University - Aebersold Recreation Center and the Director of Operations & Programs, Personal Trainer, and Instructor at Cool Springs Fitness & Aquatics. Joanie also gained experience as an Event Manager, Marketing Specialist, and Personal Trainer during their freelance work from 2018 to 2019. Additionally, Joanie has worked as a Grants Writer at YMCA of Corry and self-employed as a Grant Writer for Non-Profits from 2018 to 2019. Recently, they have taken up the role of Health and Wellness Director at Grove City YMCA from 2019 onwards. Throughout their career, Joanie has demonstrated a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and organizing fitness/wellness programs.
Joanie Anderson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. Joanie also pursued Graduate Studies in Administration in Physical Education and Athletics at the same university. In addition, they obtained an Associate degree in Computer Programming & Business from ITT Technical Institute. Joanie has earned various certifications, including "CPR & AED" from the American Heart Association in 2019 and "AFAA / NASM Group Exercise Instructor" from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) / AFAA in 2019. Joanie has also completed several professional development courses on platforms such as LinkedIn, including "Discovering Your Strengths," "Figuring Out Your Next Move," "Learning to Be Approachable," "Nonprofit Management Foundations," "Giving Your Elevator Pitch," all obtained in different years.
