Daniel Owens is a Design Engineer at Grove Design. Coming from a background in structural steel work and plastic injection moulding, Daniel has had the opportunity to explore a variety of engineering and design disciplines, from waste recycling plant design, to more industrial design focused projects. This range of experience has contributed to his knowledge of prototyping and manufacturing processes, which is utilised in Daniel’s CAD development and functional testing.
In his spare time, Daniel enjoys a variety of adventure sports. His design and engineering skills often play a part in enhancing these activities, from cycle maintenance/repair to bespoke component development for his electric mountain bikes. This experience has also helped Daniel to develop new design concepts that support these activities, such as an adaptable binding system that allow snowboard boots to be used on skis as well as snowboards, and developing portable safety equipment for climbing/bouldering. Having his own 3D printing facility has supported Daniel in design, prototyping and product development, both for his own projects, and when working from home.
