Tom Verdon-Roe is a Trainee Solicitor at Shoosmiths, specializing in Real Estate and Corporate law, with experience as a Data & Privacy Paralegal and Real Estate Paralegal. Prior to this role, Tom completed a Vacation Scheme at Womble Bond Dickinson (UK) LLP, focusing on professional risks and commercial services. Tom also gained practical experience through a work placement at Bramsdon & Childs Solicitors and a full-time position with Pathway CTM aiming to support students in securing high-level apprenticeships. Educationally, Tom holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Film Studies from the University of Exeter, an MA in Law from The University of Law, and is currently pursuing an LPC LLM at BPP Law School.

GROW is a registered charity supporting diverse lawyers, addressing intersectionality within the legal profession and working with aspiring lawyers through one-to-one mentoring. Mentees are assigned a mentor from the legal profession who is able to offer tailored advice through frequent email contact, monthly scheduled video/phone calls and hopefully, very soon, in person catch ups, coffees and mentoring events. Since launching GROW at the start of the Covid-19 outbreak, we have successfully paired over 2000 mentees to their own mentor. Our mentors represent over 220 law firms, 85 in-house legal teams and 20 barristers chambers. The ability to support mentees digitally during this period has resulted in a seamless and flexible scheme for all involved. Sign up today!
