Damilola Thompson

Damilola Thompson has been working in the tech and venture capital industries since 2016. Damilola began their career as Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Ventures Dialogue, a platform for education, collaboration and dissemination of investment opportunities tailored to meet the specific needs of African founders and entrepreneurs. In 2018, they co-founded Grupa.io, an internet marketplace platform that matches top-talent technical experts to startup founders, and Platohub LLC, a community of product teams, product owners and service providers collaborating to build high-growth global companies. In 2019, they became Chapter co-Leader of SoGal, the largest global platform for diverse entrepreneurs and investors. In 2020, Damilola became an investor for Hoss (acquired by Niantic, Inc.), Pngme, and Torre. In 2021, they were appointed VP, Global Markets Expansion and VP & Global Head of Emerging Markets at TRADE X, as well as a Seed Investor for Spenny.

Damilola Thompson has a diverse educational background. Damilola began their studies in 2002 at the University of Lagos, earning an LLB in Law in 2008. In 2009, they completed a Bachelor's Degree in Law at the Nigerian Law School. Damilola also earned a Diploma in French at the University of Togo in 2009. In 2016, they obtained a certification from the NovoEd KauffmanFellows Academy for Venture Capital Deals. Damilola also obtained certifications from IBM for Blockchain Intro in 2018 and from YdevAcademy for Data Science Course in 2019. In addition, they obtained a certification from Coursera Course Certificates for Private Equity and Venture Capital in 2015, and from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in 2010. Damilola also became a Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria. In 2017, they earned a Certificate in Financial Modelling and Valuation from Edubridge Academy. Most recently, they obtained a Master of Laws - LLM in Business Law and Technology from the University of California, Berkeley in 2020, and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration - MBA in Business Administration and Management, General from Jessup University, which they are expected to complete in 2022.
