Ignacio Pérez Lizaur is an experienced business executive who has spent their career in the retail industry. Ignacio has held various leadership positions with Walmart, including CEO of Walmart Central America, President & CEO of Walmart Puerto Rico, and President & CEO of Walmart Argentina. Ignacio also served as a consultant to Walmart International in China, India, and Brazil. In their current role as Independent Board Member at Grupo Bimbo, they are responsible for strategy and innovation.

Pérez Lizaur began their career with Walmart in Mexico, where they launched the Sam’s Club format. Ignacio later spearheaded an improved consumer experience throughout Mexico by providing a large array of imported merchandise at affordable pricing while maintaining local sources for local goods.

Under their leadership, the region of Central America reported sales of almost $3.5 billion US with over 35,000 employees. Ignacio was also instrumental in developing segmented retail formats catering to diverse income levels and consumption patterns, which are now commonly applied throughout Walmart markets world-wide.

Ignacio Pérez Lizaur has a Master's Degree in Developmental Studies from the University of East Anglia, a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, and has completed a Financial Seminar of Non Financial Managers at Stanford University. Additionally, they have completed a Corporate Governance: Effectiveness and Accountability in the Boardroom course at Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management and a Boards that Lead/Ram Charam Seminar at The Wharton School. Finally, they are a graduate of SINGULARITY UNIVERSITY.
