Johnny Alpízar

Johnny Alpízar, CIA, CPA has extensive work experience in the field of auditing and risk management. Johnny began their career in 1993 as an Assistant Auditor at Deloitte & Touche. From 1996 to 1998, they worked as a Senior Auditor at Corporación de Compañías Agroindustriales MxM. Following that, they joined Coca-Cola FEMSA as a Regional Senior Auditor from 1998 to 2002. In 2002, they joined Ernst & Young as a Senior Manager for Central America and the Dominican Republic, where they led the Risk Advisory line of business in Guatemala and handled consulting projects in the region. Since 2011, Johnny has been working as the Director of Internal Audit at Grupo Monge, responsible for evaluating corporate governance and risk management, overseeing strategic projects, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and strengthening internal controls.

Johnny Alpízar completed their education at the Universidad Europea del Atlántico, earning a Master Internacional en Administración y Dirección de Empresas (MBA) from 2016 to 2019. Johnny also pursued a Maestría en Dirección Estratégica, with a specialization in Gerencia, at the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana (UNINI PR) during the same period. Prior to that, they obtained a Licenciado degree in Administración de Negocios, Contaduría Pública from the Universidad de Costa Rica UCR from 1988 to 1995. Johnny Alpízar is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Johnny obtained their CPA certification in 1995 from the Colegio de Contadores Públicos de Costa Rica, and their CIA certification from The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc. in 2006 and again in 2007. In 2011, they also became an Evaluador/Validador de Calidad de Auditoría Interna certified by The Institute of Internal Auditors.
