Jan Buijk has extensive work experience in the energy industry. Jan started their career as a Project Engineer at Spruyt Energy Systems in 1984. In 1989, they joined Toromont Energy as an Account Manager, where they focused on gas engine power systems. Jan then worked for GE Distributed Power as the Business Manager for Canada from 2001 to 2003. Jan later joined DDACE Power Systems as the Vice President and General Manager, a position they held from 2004 to 2010. During this time, they also served as the Chair for WADE Canada from 2010 to 2013.

In 2013, Jan became the Director of Decentralized Energy Canada, a technology accelerator for the decentralized energy industry. Since 2010, they have been the CEO of AB Energy Canada Ltd., a company dedicated to selling, servicing, and maintaining advanced gas engine power generation systems. Additionally, Jan is a Member of the Board of Directors for the Association of Power Producers of Ontario (APPrO) since 2018.

Jan Buijk 🇨🇦 obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering from HTS Utrecht, where they studied from 1983 to 1988. Prior to that, they attended MTS Bergen op Zoom from 1979 to 1983, although there is no information available regarding a specific degree or field of study.
