Matt Godbold has over 20 years of experience in various marketing and brand management roles. Matt currently serves as the Category and Marketing Director at G's Group since May 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Head of Marketing at IGD from February 2020 to May 2022. From 2012 to 2019, they held multiple positions at Bakkavor, including Marketing Controller for Futures and Brand, Chilled Desserts, and Ready Meals, Soups, and Sauce. Matt also served as Senior Category Manager - Format during this time. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Group Brand Manager at Cranswick Country Foods PLC, Group Brand Marketing Manager at Moy Park, Marketing Manager at Kitchen Range Foods Limited, Senior Brand Manager at Premier Foods, and Quality Manager at Chivers Hartley.
Matt Godbold obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Sussex in 1995. Matt then pursued a Chartered Institute of Marketing Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing at the Cambridge Marketing College from 2003 to 2006. In 2019, they completed two Mini MBA programs: one in Marketing and another in Brand Management, both from Marketing Week Mini MBA with Mark Ritson. Prior to their university studies, they attended Long Road Sixth Form College in Cambridge from 1989 to 1991.
