Hendrik Jan Roel

Hendrik Jan Roel currently serves as the CFO of citizenM hotels and is an Executive Board member, a role held since May 2022. Roel is also an active member of several supervisory and audit committees, including positions at GS1 Nederland, Van Gogh Museum, and Hotelschool The Hague. Prior to these roles, Roel was CFO of Albert Heijn and Ahold Delhaize Nederland, holding various senior executive positions in finance within Ahold Europe from 2008 to 2022. Roel began the career as an Audit Manager at Arthur Andersen & Co. and co-founded Business Supporting Facilities B.V. in 1987. Educational qualifications include advanced degrees from Stanford University and Harvard Business School, as well as a degree in Business Economics from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
