Christopher Altman

Christopher Altman is currently an advisor at GSD Venture Studios. Christopher has previous experience as a Senior Research Scientist at Pacific International Space Center for Exploration Systems and as Director of the Board, Chief Science Officer, NASA-trained Commercial Astronaut, and Flight Member at the Association of Spaceflight Professionals. Christopher also has experience as Chief Astronaut Technical Officer at Mars City Design.

Altman was recruited to serve as Director General for Science, Technology and Innovation for the State of Queensland, Australia in November 2015, reporting directly to the Premiér with oversight of 2900 personnel and a $2 Billion annual operating budget. In this role, they were responsible for increasing prominence and international reputation for scientific and research excellence, and for developing, attracting and retaining world-class talent to create the jobs of the future. Christopher was a top five finalist drafted through an intensive international campaign and selection process.

Christopher Altman attended the Technische Universiteit Delft on an Austrian International Research Fellowship, studying Applied Physics and Nanoscience. Christopher then went on to study International Affairs, Physics, and Japanese at the University of Amsterdam as an ISHSS Scholar. Next, they studied Global Leadership at the Hive Global Leadership Program. Finally, they completed their undergraduate studies at the Pierre Laclede Honors College of the University of Missouri-Saint Louis, earning a BA in Philosophy with Honors. In addition to their academic accomplishments, Christopher Altman is certified in Emergency Egress Training and Sea Survival from Survival Systems USA, as well as Suborbital Scientist Training from the NASTAR Center. Christopher is also certified in High-Altitude Flight Training from NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
