Darren Bowles

Darren Bowles is an accomplished Executive Director at GTE Group, specializing in control systems, functional safety, and electrical engineering since July 2016. GTE Group provides technology and engineering solutions for the mining, industrial, and manufacturing sectors, with a focus on productivity, growth, and sustainability. Prior to this role, Darren served as Principal Control Systems Consultant for the Port PLC Upgrade Project at BHP, and held significant positions at Rio Tinto, including Manager for the Mine of the Future, where responsibilities encompassed autonomous mining technologies. Experience with BHP Billiton includes roles as Manager of Engineering & Equipment Support, overseeing technical excellence across Iron Ore operations, and as Principal Control & Electrical Engineer for maintenance projects. Earlier experience includes regulatory and project management roles at Rio Tinto and a maintenance management position at Kailis & France Foods. Darren holds a Master's and BEng(Hons) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from The University of Salford, earned between 1987 and 1993.
