Roy Hughes is an experienced professional in the appraisal and collateral underwriting sector. Currently serving as Vice President of the National Appraisal Desk at Guaranteed Rate since July 2019, Roy oversees the appraisal procurement process, managing vendors and ensuring adherence to service level expectations. Previously, Roy held the position of AVP Collateral Underwriting Manager at Wintrust Mortgage, where responsibilities included guiding staff on the residential appraisal process and ensuring compliance with federal regulations. Earlier roles include leading a team at PNC Mortgage focused on collateral review, serving as a Chicago Area Staff Appraiser for Wells Fargo, and managing the appraisal help desk for Wachovia. Roy holds a Certified Residential Appraiser degree from Halloway's Real Estate Institute and a B.S. in Computer Science from Grand Valley State University.
