Phillip Yen

Phillip Yen is a seasoned bioinformatics systems software engineer with extensive experience in the field. Currently serving as a Staff Bioinformatics Systems Software Engineer at Guardant Health since December 2020, Phillip has progressed through various positions in the company, including Senior Bioinformatics Systems Software Engineer and Bioinformatics Systems Software Engineer II. Prior to Guardant Health, Phillip worked as a Research Scientist specializing in computational biology and software engineering at Arzeda, where the focus was on developing tools for discovering and designing novel metabolic pathways. Phillip's academic background includes a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia, where research involved computational modeling of bacterial metabolism and antibiotic resistance, complemented by an internship at Sapphire Energy Inc. performing bioinformatics analysis. Additionally, Phillip holds a BS in Biomedical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, and Statistics from The Johns Hopkins University.
