Guardian

The Guardian Bandsaw – a new generation of safety equipment for the meat processing industry. This leading-edge safety system delivers unprecedented safety to all staff wearing blue gloves in a boning room. The system utilises a four-camera vision system to detect the presence of blue gloves within a defined 'safety zone' (40mm all around the blade). Upon detection, the saw blade is de-tensioned and stopped before the saw operators hand comes into contact with the blade. The braking procedure is not violent and does not damage the blade. The system is reset with the push of a button. Running behind the saw is a comprehensive software reporting system that provides staff full visibility of the saw operation. This includes brake trigger events alters and historical data, operator run time information and blade replacement information. The system allows operators and managers to understand their risks in more detail and to implement safety-enhancing behaviours immediately.
