Annie Kelly has extensive experience in journalism, primarily focused on human rights and international development. Since January 2013, Annie has served as the Editor of the Rights and Freedom project at The Guardian, leading investigations and special reports on global human rights issues. Previously, Annie was the Editor of The Guardian's series on global human trafficking and modern slavery, where significant coverage was dedicated to labor exploitation worldwide over five years. Earlier career roles included reporting for The Guardian and Observer, covering topics such as the experiences of former child soldiers and community responses to HIV/AIDS in several developing countries. Annie's background includes positions at Haymarket Publications and Revolution magazine, as well as early training at Cambridge Café Radio. Annie holds a BA (Hons) in English and History from Leeds University.
