Guillem Pascual Guinovart has a diverse work experience, starting in 2012 as a DBA & Web developer at Aplausos Marketing, S.L. In 2014, they joined FICOSA for an internship. From 2014 to 2016, they worked at the Universitat de Barcelona as a research scholarship recipient. During this time, they also served as a Teaching Assistant Professor, teaching various subjects including algorithmic programming and recommender systems. In 2016, they completed a course on Deep Learning From Scratch. Guillem then continued their academic journey as a PhD student at the Universitat de Barcelona, specializing in Deep Learning applied to Computer Vision. Their research focused on uncertainty estimation via Convolutional Neural Networks for image segmentation. In 2022, they joined Guardsquare as a Senior Software Engineer, contributing to the development of iXGuard, a mobile application protection solution for iOS applications. In 2023, they transitioned to the role of Engineering Team Lead, responsible for leading a team of engineers and overseeing the development of mobile application protection solutions.
Guillem Pascual Guinovart has a strong education background in computer science. Guillem obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science from the Universitat de Barcelona, which they pursued from 2017 to 2023. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Foundations of Data Science at the same university from 2016 to 2017. Guillem also holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, specializing in Engineering, from the Universitat de Barcelona, which was earned from 2012 to 2016.
In addition to their formal education, Guillem has acquired various certifications. Guillem completed a course on Probabilistic Graphical Models 1: Representation from Coursera in June 2017. In January 2017, they completed a course on Neural Networks for Machine Learning, also from Coursera. Guillem has also obtained certifications in Heterogeneous Parallel Programming and Machine Learning from Coursera Verified Certificates in April 2015 and September 2014, respectively. Furthermore, they have certifications in Functional Programming Principles in Scala, MongoDB for Developers, Principios de programación funcional en Scala, and Cryptography I, all from Coursera. Lastly, Guillem obtained a Certificate in Advanced English from the University of Cambridge in December 2011.
